Cooking With Breeo: Grilled Chicken

If you’re looking for a straightforward, easy-to-follow, grilled chicken recipe, you’ve come to the right place. Make this recipe your own by adding a family favorite sauce, marinade you’ve been dying to try, or seasoning you’ve just discovered. Chicken is the ideal protein to experiment with and perfect.

We’ve all had flavorful, moist chicken and the opposite not-so-great, dry chicken, but in the recipe and video below, you won’t find the latter. Give it a try and let us know what you think!


 

What You’ll Need 

Chicken Breast

Coarse sea salt 

Coarse Ground Black Pepper

Olive Oil 

Optional Seasonings: Garlic, Rosemary, Thyme, Cayenne, Paprika

  

Preparation

1. Begin by starting a fire in your X Series fire pit and adding the Outpost™ Grill over the heat. 

2. Trim the chicken breasts, if they aren’t already, and season with salt & pepper and additional seasonings of your choice. 

  

3. Once the fire has burned down to coals and the flame is low, place the chicken breast on the grill just above the flame tips. 

  

Live-Fire Cooking Pro Tip: Wear a glove on one hand while preparing the chicken and use it to handle the meat while the other hand seasons. After placing the chicken breast on the grill, simply take the glove off and you’re ready to go. 

  

4. The key here is to get a good sear on both sides of the chicken and then slow cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. 

Once the first side has seared, flip the chicken, and drizzle with olive oil to add additional moisture. 

  

  

5. After both sides have fully seared, raise the grill to lower the heat and slow cook until the chicken is fully done. Continue adding oil throughout when extra moisture is necessary.

6. Once it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, take the chicken breast off immediately. You don’t want to overcook chicken, this will cause it to dry out. 

  

  

7. Let the chicken breast rest, like any other protein, off the heat for at least 5 minutes before cutting into it. This is an important step. Resting protein allows the extra juice and flavors to soak back into the meat before cutting into it. 

8. After your chicken breast has rested, pair it with your favorite over-the-fire side or eat it by itself, and of course, enjoy the result of your live-fire skills!
